EdTech Summit Notes

The sessions had many opportunities to explore further and implement into my teaching and learning. Also building relationships with fellow teaching professionals from Australia was useful and purposeful and further emphasized the close working relationships between our teachers in Australia and New Zealand.

We were also asked to present at the Summit. My presentation was on Google sheets and displaying and presentating data using data validation, conditional formatting and pivot tables. Although the session only had 6 participants, the 90 minute session allowed my passion and interest for data using sheets to be shared with others. The feedback and responses received was as follows:-

Great to work on sheets again and go over some skills that I haven’t used for awhile.

Using data formatting to colour code data and creating pivot tables.

Pivot tables are very useful!

Each session attended made me more aware of possibilities to use when I return home and I could either use and pass onto others to help them.

One of the many highlights was attending the Google office in Sydney. It was inspirational and a wonderful opportunity to go inside and see Google. WOW!

The trip gave me a new enthusiasm to further explore slying that dragon (toolkit) and further be inspired and motivated to change the toolkit that has caused so much pleasure and anxiety over the many months starting the MIT journey.

I enjoyed spending time with ALL the MIT participants in Australia Sydney and this provided further opportunities for all of us to build on the relationships and friendships developed in New Zealand since starting the MIT journey in 2019.
